July 4th

We had a pretty low-key 4th of July this year. It hasn't rained since November, and there are burn bans all over the place. So, no fireworks! We just enjoyed lots of family time at home. We had a water balloon fight, and the girls made a "flag cake."

You can definitely tell it was decorated by kids....but it tasted yummy!

The granddaughter of one of our neighbors was in town visiting, so Kaitlyn invited her over for water balloons and cake.

On Saturday I took the girls bowling. They had $1 shoes and games, so why not? We were the only ones there which is kind of hilarious...I mean, who really goes bowling anymore? At a legit bowling alley? We do! Where else can you try to knock a few pins down, eat fake cheese nachos and dance to Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" blaring over the loud speaker all at the same time? That's just a straight up good time if you ask me. The girls loved it.

.

I showed no mercy and bowled the highest score. Claire actually came in a close second, which Kaitlyn was not too happy about. We didn't tell Cora that she lost. She was too into the 80's music. We didn't want to ruin her good mood.
