photo booth fun!

i have some updating to do on what we have been up to lately, but i was looking through some of my photo booth pictures on my computer and decided to post some of these instead. they were just too funny not to share.

my kids are bored of it in the background..not me. i'm still entertaining myself. 

first day of school!

the girls had a great first day of school this year. this is the first year that kaitlyn and cora are in the same school building. kaitlyn started 3rd grade (craaaaazy!!!), and cora started the pre-k program there. claire also started her first day of full-time daycare. i have been so blessed to have been able to stay home with them as long as i have. now that i started nursing school - in she went! i had a hard time leaving her there, but she did great. i'm super pleased with all of their teachers and really think they will all have great years!

kaitlyn was so sweet walking her little sister to class. claire just thought she needed to wear her backpack into the building, even though she goes somewhere else. :)

cora loves her teacher, mrs. cline. she's always commenting on what she wears and what kind of jewelry she has on.

i am so glad that she got mrs. greene. i am not one that requests teachers (no offense to those that do...just not me!), but i secretly prayed that this is who she would get. kaitlyn and i were both super excited. 

claire went straight for the dolls. she has a fun teacher as well, and was excited to go - which made it so much easier for me! 

claire's teacher wasn't there the morning of her first day because she was taking her own kids to school, so i had to take this on the second day. 

i am so truly thankful for all of these teachers that take care of my babies during the day. i pray they all have a great year! i know it will go by so fast.

end of summer randomness...

first of all....IT'S RAINING!!! i mean, thundering, lightening, loss of power...really hard RAIN! our dog is about as far back in her dog house as she can go. she probably thinks the world is ending. i'm sure the lubbock weather men all think we're gonna die. but i love it!!!!!!!

we haven't done anything major around here lately. i started school on august 1st, so our summer has pretty much ended. i was looking through the last few pictures on my camera and found a few fun ones.

this picture just makes my heart swell up out of my chest.

we did some "milk art" outside in the driveway - just a little milk and food coloring. kaitlyn was really into it. 

i'm guessing claire took this picture with the camera lens half open. i thought it looked cool. shout out to neil and britt!

we made some homemade stamps out of water and milk bottle lids with foam stickers on top. worked great and the girls loved them! 

up until tonight we haven't seen rain in months and months. so we just made our own. i sat in the chair with the water hose pointed straight up and the girls played in the "rain" with their umbrellas. 

sunday my aunt carla and her 3 boys drove in from washington state! it was so fun to see them. the needham's came in from midland...and we just had a good ole time! we had bbque, brisket, and even went bowling. hilarious. fun memories! 

here are 7 out of 12 of the cousins on my mom's side. 

this is what i am doing these days. i'm just in week two, but i'm loving it so far. waiting for the hard part to kick in. any day now i'm sure.  

if i'm not at school, you can find me here. i had to change my little dresser into a desk "area." it's unreal the amount of stuff we have to print out. they don't give you anything...their way of cutting costs, i guess. i am going through the paper and ink! 

cut my hair 3 inches today! feels sooooo much better.

Beat the Heat

there is a picture of a bill board going around that says, "satan called. he wants his weather back." for real. it's been over 100 degrees here for many days in a row, so we have been trying to find things to do within the blessing of air conditioning!

we made cookies for some neighbors...

kaitlyn just told me to call her when the dough was ready. :) 

we made homemade lava lamps. i have been WAY addicted to the pinterest website lately, and got a couple of these ideas from there. i'm telling you, i could spend h-o-u-r-s on that site. 

she was thrilled..

saturday morning kaitlyn woke up at 6:30 and went to play 18 holes of golf with my parents! i was a little worried that she would get bored/hot/frustrated, but she did great and loved it. 

her good attitude and patience were rewarded by being able to drive the cart!

while they were out sweating their brains out  getting great exercise, the little's and i stayed at home doing "indoor" things. 

like sleeping until almost 9:00 (that's a record around here) and painting birdhouses in our pajamas!

and doing a popcorn kernel word search. this kept them busy for at least an hour, and they have kept coming back to it today.

and the best way we have found to beat the heat is to get wet!

and what is summer without a little sleepover every now and then?

these sweet princesses all cuddled up in the tent watching tangled for the 5,287th time.

i start nursing school next monday, so i am really trying to soak up these precious moments with my girls. summer went by waaaay too fast this year.
